An Interview with Chirenon – a kinky photostory artist.

As I was surfing on Tumblr some days ago I have seen your blog on which you are showing kinky photo stories in the style i have known from teenager magazines in my youth. I really like your work and I am happy to talk to you. What was your motivation to start to tell kinky stories in this speach bubbles style?

Chirenon:  Thank you for having me on your site.  To answer your question about my motivation: in my view, the overwhelming majority of gay pornography consists of images and videos either of two or more partners engaged in intercourse, or one guy masturbating.  Often you don’t even get what I call “establishing shots” of the guys naked without holding onto their cocks (to get a sense of even what they look like) prior to initiation of sex.  I find this intensely ordinary and boring.  Lacking is any sense of the individuals as characters in a story; any sense that this is an erotic situation or scenario; that there is any excitement or interest to anything they are doing.  The goal of my work is to tell such stories in order to get the viewer/reader interested in the characters and what’s happening to them; to give you empathy for them and to imagine yourself placed in such a scenario.  I almost never see this in existing porn and so I decided to fill a need that I personally want to see filled.

Regarding the “speech bubble” style: this is a way I was able to create my stories as a hobby without cost.  At different times I considered founding a porn video studio and website and going into this as a professional business.  Had I done so, I would have created stories by filming actual videos and orchestrating professional photo shoots.  I didn’t end up going down that path and so I decided to tell the stories using a comic-book-style format.  I picked this over a simple text format because I felt I had sufficient skill in Photoshop to make the visuals compelling and believable.

 

MasterMarc: Am I right if I say that by regarding your work we are following your masturbation phantasies? I am quite sure that I am. That means that you’re a kinky guy too but we don’t know which position is yours. Could you tell us a little about the kinks you’re into?

Chirenon:  Yes, these are the fantasies and kinky scenarios that I find erotic.  The general, underlying theme is a loss of control over yourself and your sexuality to someone else.  At its simplest, this involves a someone embracing the role of submission to a dominant master and vowing obedience to his commands and a set of rules.  This general scenario involves being stripped of your clothing and kept naked, being stripped of your body hair, ceasing to think of yourself as a man and instead being called a boy, and ceasing to be able to think of your penis as an active, thrusting cock whose purpose is fucking, and instead seeing it as a helpless, passive organ, no longer under your control — something that leaves you helplessly horny, but unable to cum. The simplest scenario I tend to explore is becoming a house boy: being kept shaved, naked, and locked into a chastity cage in your home by a dominant partner.  This is something people can and do play out in real life, and so it has the most realism.

My more elaborate stories treat this same theme by taking it into the realm of science fiction and fantasy.  Thus, instead of losing control of your cock by having it locked in a cage, I explore scenarios like penis reduction pills (“Phalliminate”). Or “mounding” — surgical alteration which leaves the genitals trapped inside a kind of biological chastity device with the outward appearance of a female pussy.  Beyond these, I’ve done stories of “pussification” surgery, which is to say castration and sex-reassignment surgery on the genitals but without taking female hormones or other surgeries to make the person appear female.  Many of these scenarios are “top to bottom” stories where a person who had thought of himself as dominant finds himself made to be a submissive, through muscle reduction “twinkification” and ultimately through total gender reversal where a powerful, straight hunk, functionally has the appearance and objectified role of a tiny, weak, feminized, sex toy.
There are many variations I’ve explored along these lines, including being trained to become a senseless animal:  a pony boy or a puppy boy; or even an inanimate object (the ultimate objectification): a statue, a doll, a wall hanging, or a table.  In general, I like to give the stories a sense of realism, as though it’s remotely possible for them to occur, and to create a backdrop of a science fiction or fantasy world in which such things do occur and are deemed normal.  So, for example, it’s not simply one isolated bully that is turned into a girl; the entire world is being turned on end and those who find themselves newly disenfranchised have to learn to deal with their new position together.

In my more elaborate stories, therefore, we see a whole society.  “Club Dominion” has a complete staff of objectified hunk slave fixtures and twink slave fixtures, along with other servants.  In “Shetfield Pony Academy,” it’s not just the protagonist Devon who is trained as a pony boy; there’s a whole stable full of victims.  “Lance and Jamie” live in a world where gay husbands routinely have their twink-boy husbands “mounded.”  In “The Resort” all the husbands face humiliation, loss of control, servitude, and the experience of being cuckolded together.  In “Boytopia” all of the boys in the society have had their genitals magically reduced to useless nullums.  And in the role reversal Rejuve (Andredux) universe, the whole planet is being turned on end and the gender roles are reversed to the extreme.

 

MasterMarc: How do you create your stories? Do you have first the pictures and than you start to tell a story with them or do you have first a story in your mind and than you start to search pictures? Please provide us an insight into your creative process.  

Chirenon: Most simple one-offs (individual frame stories) result from when I find some image that I think is sexy or has potential.  I’ll then add some component — such as putting the guy into chastity — to make it original for my re-telling.  Sometimes this is a very simple change, but even simple changes can involve using many original source photos.  For example, getting rid of a big, hard, hairy cock isn’t as easy as photoshopping a random chastity device on top.  You need to first create a composite of a smooth, shaved groin, which requires matching color, lighting, and shading.  The chastity device needs to be a the correct angle and to match the lighting as well.  As sources for chastity device imagery, I’ve had many boys model for me and taken hundreds of original photographs so that I have different cages from all different angles and in all sorts of lighting.

More elaborate stories require a lot of hunting for appropriate photos.  For example, in my recent “Club Dominion” story, I had a scenario in mind that I wanted to tell:  guys being made into helpless sex fixtures at a club with clothed patrons. With that idea as my starting point, I hunted down hundreds of source photos (mostly taken from straight porn) to create the collages. The background imagery is a mixture of straight porn photo shoots from Kink studios.  The hunks were men from a photo shoot in “Divine Bitches” and the twink was a woman in “Device Bondage”.  However, while I like that studio’s scenarios, I usually hate their casting; so I entirely replaced two of the males with underwear models — which involved finding photos where the models have their arms extended upwards (so the musculature matches).  And, of course, underwear models wear underwear, which I had to remove.  And I also added the cock extenders, fucking machines, tip jars, and signage. And in the foreground I added the clothed people talking (using body pictures from clothing stores) in order to heighten the contrast with the helpless, nude fixtures.  All together that first image where they meet the hunk fixtures is a composite of 30-40 source photos.  The later photo of Kyler Moss affixed to the wall is a bit more elaborate because the original source was female, over which all the parts had to be replaced with parts of Kyler Moss’s body from various photo shoots.
