homeBild2-denis001Hey dudes. Today i gonna visit a friend i know for many years from Zurich. He is now living for several years in Montreal, the capital of the french speaking area of Canada. As I know him for years so you can imagine what kind of pig he is and that he is the right guy to show us the kinky places of the capital of Quebec.

sadoSAM: Hi Denis, thanks for showing me around the town where you live. I know you’re into the kinky stuff too. How long have you been living out your desires and how did you come to that?

Denis: I was an early bird, and realized even earlier that with the age of 16 that I have some fetishes, although I didn’t realize back then THAT they are fetishes. Thus I got into the SM, bondage and fetish at the age of around 19. I like to socialize in gear, less in bars than in dance clubs, or bars / cruise clubs.

sadoSAM: How do you live out your fetishes and what does appeal to you in s/m?

Denis: I like to socialize in gear, less in bars than in dance clubs, or bars / cruise clubs, and also just with friends at home. When playing, I am attracted to the power exchange, role playing involving dominance, abuse and submission. Leather or rubber is pretty much a must, highlight the roles. Also, I love to play in public, thus in bars or clubs, or even better, dance clubs. Sometimes outdoors in parks too, or on a motorbike trip, but this requires some attention, especially in North America where laws are stricter than in other places like Europe.

sadoSAM: Alright, enough talking. It’s afternoon already and I want to see something. Let’s do a little bit shopping. Which fetish stores do we absolutely have to see and why?

DenisAlright, enough talking. It’s afternoon already and I want to see something. Let’s do a little bit shopping. Which fetish stores do we absolutely have to see and why?

Denis: First of all, in Montreal, you go to the village. A strip of St. Catherine East, where most gay bars, saunas and shops are. Especially popular in summer when the road is closed for traffic.

There used to be more places for fetish shopping than today, above all a renowned latex manufacturer I happen to know. Sadly they closed before I could visit the store. These days, you have Priape as a general gay sex shop, sporting a fetish and BDSM basement floor with quite an impressive selection, including clinic toys and dogplay items.

Then there is Fetish Armada, a more recent place that – in my opinion – targets more the ‘clothing’ people. Lots of gear – leather rubber sports – and accessories, but much less kinky toys than Priape.

Generally speaking, the prices are often higher than we know it. If anything, leather gear (as all over North America) might be better priced than in Europe, while the rest is rarely cheaper.

sadoSAM: Whoo, shopping can be quite tiring after all. Are there any coffeehouses or bars that are open in the afternoon and that you can recommend?

Denis: Not sure about the afternoon really. Gay people mix well everywhere here. Best is to be in the Gay Village and walk around a bit. There are Starbucks, Coffee Depot and Second Cup there as well, which most people go to. The Sky Complex is a good bet pretty much every time, although not at all fetish oriented. Le Stud and L’Aigle (The Eagle) are open pretty much all the time, but might only get crowded towards 5pm when Happy Hours start (very popular).

sadoSAM: After those hot guys in the bar I’m kinda horny. Where are the good cruising areas or saunas here?

Denis: There is a risk that Police arrests you when cruising outside. The parks are closed during the night (still accessible, but in theory not open to public). You are probably better off to go to a Sauna, they are very popular for after-drinks-cruising. The only one I know from experience is GI Joe Sauna. Again, right in the middle of the Gay Village, you can literally stumbe over the street in your gear and go to GI Joe. Very popular on a Friday or Saturday night with some or many kinky guys cruising and amusing themselves all over the 3 floors. Others are Oasis (apparently younger and non-kinky) and Sauna St. Hubert (no experience, apparently more familial, some nude only evenings, some transvestite evenings).

If you wanna go to a park, Parc Lafontaine is apparently the place, although there is no fetish or kinky parc as far as I know. Again, be careful, you might bump into the police…

sadoSAM: I think it’s time to kick around town. Can you tell me which good bars are on the program. What kind of people do they attract and when is it going?

Denis: The happy hours are very popular. Start your bar tour at the Eagle at 5pm, or if you prefer hunks, beards, tattoos and less fashion, start at the Stud. Younger and ‘better dressed’ people can again be found at the Sky Bar. From there on, as you are in the village, discover the bars by strolling around and/or following the other guests.

sadoSAM: The clubs and parties should be warming up now. What’s on the program and where can we experience something? Are there any returning fetish events running here?

Denis: If you like dancing and wearing your gear, it gets tricky. Always worth is checking out Appollon, they often host fetish dance events by Fetish Armada or other organizers.

Noteworthy are the Pride that happens every year, and during that, there is a Party called Black & Blue. Style Circuit Party, expensive but worth the experience (Dance party with fetish crowd as well, not an official sex party but you are not really restricted to have some fun on the dancefloor.

For a privately organized sex/fetish party, Addicktion is the place to go. Look out for the organizer at Recon or fetlife.com, to announce your arrival. Take your alcohol with you, and go in ANY gear you like, with doggy on a leash, your naked sub, in TV gear or however you want. Super nice, and you can play, just have a drink on the sofas and watch, or both.

Another happening of 6 days and nights is the annual Montreal Fetish Weekend. While mainly straight, many gay events take place during those days as well. Also, over here, gay and straight mix well, no need to restrict one selves to gay events only.

sadoSAM: Either we are going to play in a sauna again or I’m going to sleep. Can you recommend me a good hotel or a special accommodation.

Denis: A hotel I know from personal experience which fared very good is Bed & Breakfast Du Village. It is gay owned, thus they won’t stare at you when you come home in your gear. 🙂

From its location, I have had friends staying at the Quality Hotel & Suites Downtown Hotel. A very regular chain hotel, but perfectly located at the west edge of the Gay Village.

If you feel like it, you can rent a compartment with bed at a Sauna, like GI Joe, which gives you a place to sleep as well, for a decent price. Although not a quiet night for sure 🙂
